# Graham Matthews Ceramics

Graham Matthews is a potter and ceramicist, born in Leeds, Yorkshire, in 1960. He has lived and worked in Leeds, Carlisle and Eastbourne. The studio, The Clay Workshop, is in Eastbourne and also runs classes for adults and children.

Current work includes the Strata series of slab-built vessels and sculptural forms, alongside a longstanding interest in Japanese ceramics, particularly Oribe and raku. The site shows new ceramic pottery and previous studio pottery.

Artist statement (closing line): “I love making them, and I hope people enjoy looking at them and using them.”
